At the inaugural RHS Sandringham Flower Show, Nice Ponds were honoured to be part of the team that won three show garden awards: 

RHS Gold Medal, Kings Biodiversity Award (judged and presented by the King himself), and Environmental Innovation Award.

Collaborating with the Sponsor, Mindful Chef, Designer Sophie Godber, and Spacecraft Garden Design. The show garden was built by High Peak Garden Construction with Michael Robinson, Nice Ponds, and Peak Boxes.

As primary contractors for the garden Nice Ponds were awarded their own RHS Gold Medal with Matt getting the opportunity to shake hands with the King.

Commenting on the show Matt Nice said “It was an incredible result from the show, we were absolutely thrilled to win the Gold Medal, as the standard at the show was incredibly high. Then to have the King come and judge the garden in person and award the garden the Kings Biodiversity award, not many people can say their work has Royal approval! As an Ecologist these awards are so important as they recognise how important the spaces we create are for wildlife. It was also a privilege to work alongside a brilliant local team with all of us coming from Sheffield and the Peak District”

Sophie Godber, Designer at Spacecraft added, “Nice Ponds brought exceptional skill and dedication to Mindful Chef’s Gathering garden at RHS Sandringham Flower Show 2026. Working tirelessly through the intense heatwave, Matt’s experience transformed our proposed wildlife pond with a beautifully judged running stream that elevated the design, contributing to our RHS Gold Medal, King’s Biodiversity Award and RHS Environmental Innovation Award.”
